If that doesn't work, I eat something healthy and high in protein, like nonfat yogurt. Even if a craving doesn't make sense to me, if I try to ignore it, I end up going crazy later.

Little Black Dress--If you like the taste of banana, I bet you could make a nice mix of peanut butter and banana to spread on things. And you can blend tofu into practically anything, although I'm not sure how that would work in this context. Regardless, if you warm up your peanut butter, it will spread much more easily and you can get away with using less. I personally find that even though peanut butter is high in calories, it is incredibly sustaining, so I always use the real thing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856054621346056507.post-12761282258898966222008-06-24T15:21:00.000-04:002008-06-24T15:21:00.000-04:00Hi Everyone! I am a bit of a habitual lurker, but I woke up this morning determined to de-lurk myself.

Oooh, those "bottomless pit days" are hard. I've been in the habit of just completely going overboard on them - particularly in TOM - but I'm really trying to break the overeating cycle now. My game plan for those days (because they are inevitable) is to drink tons of water, and eat fiberous, low-cal things until I fill up.

I've found sometimes when I feel starving in the morning, and I listen, maybe having a couple extra snacks or my lunch early, my body DOES quiet down with the hunger and I may not need food for several hours later. virtually all of the times when I truly listen to my body and eat when I am hungry (not out of boredom) I am able to stop after a reasonable amount of food. I always get to overeating when I am dehydrated/upset/really bored etc.!

Have a great day everyoneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856054621346056507.post-51555088163416363912008-06-24T13:31:00.000-04:002008-06-24T13:31:00.000-04:00This morning I was going to say that I just try to...This morning I was going to say that I just try to manage by distracting myself and drinking lots of water and I do do that, but as I am realizing as the day progresses, I also just eat a lot. I try to keep it healthy, but I definitely just let myself eat more and assume that in the end, it will all balance out.Allisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09224683718298664259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856054621346056507.post-7721697171947286742008-06-24T13:29:00.000-04:002008-06-24T13:29:00.000-04:00I think the best "remedy" for a bottomless-pit hun...I think the best "remedy" for a bottomless-pit hunger day is to EAT! Our bodies are smart and are telling us they need fuel. Just try to eat healthier, fiber-filled food with some protein, and rest-assured that you are simply treating your body well by listening to it and giving it what it apparently needs!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856054621346056507.post-85702234050650568522008-06-24T13:28:00.000-04:002008-06-24T13:28:00.000-04:00I'm pretty good at knowing when I'm TRULY hungry a...I'm pretty good at knowing when I'm TRULY hungry and when I'm just snacky. I think we're WAY better at knowing when we need food then we think we do. My stomach growls and grumbles for a reason, so I'll feed myself when I'm hungry and simply stop when I'm full. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8856054621346056507.post-5684626206273355992008-06-24T12:53:00.000-04:002008-06-24T12:53:00.000-04:00Great question!! Normally I will just have some water, then some seltzer if water didn't do the trick, then have my lunch early, then chew gum. Now I am STILL feeling hungry/snacky and I have to pull out the big stops... Iced coffee! Does the trick every time.
