Fruit Bowl

Happy FRIDAY! Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It made my day to receive all of your comments with well wishes and cheery messages in them. You guys are the best!

Workout

I was exhausted this morning (I stayed up way too late), but I bounded out of bed, ready to play with my new toy. Besides cupcakes, Mal also gave me the Nike + ipod gadget for my birthday. (I've got to burn off all of those cupcake calories somehow! Life is all about balance!) The Nike + ipod is sweeeeeeeeet! It tracks your distance, time, pace, calories burned as well as provides voice updates while you run. After running, you can download all of the run data from your ipod onto your computer, and the Nike software then records and graphs your run. The software also allows you to create goals and training programs for yourself. I'm so psyched about this thing! I think it will really help me to improve my running distance and time.

Breakfast

I seriously considered eating a Babycakes cupcake for breakfast, but then I remembered that we had quite a bit of fresh fruit that was on its last day.

Today's breakfast was a big bowl of fruit-- made with a kiwi, a banana, blueberries, and strawberry slices.

A very colorful fruit salad...

I wasn't sure if just a bowl of fruit would hold me over until lunch, so I grabbed a pumpkin-peanut butter-chocolate chip muffin, and of course, an iced coffee with soy milk to go.

When I baked the pumpkin-peanut butter-chocolate chip muffins the other night, I made a few regular-sized muffins, in addition to the mini muffins. (The muffin with my iced coffee is a regular-sized one.) Before my workout this morning, I ate one of the bigger muffins-- I put it next to a kiwi to show its size. The whole wheat flour makes them relatively heavy and filling.

I have lots to catch up on at work today, but I have a fun night to look forward to and get me through the day. Mal is plotting a birthday surprise for me. All I know is that I need to be ready to go by 7:00 tonight. I think some of my friends are in on it too. Surprises are so exciting!

Tina, my bf just gave me the Nike+ gadget recently, too. I absolutely love it! I think the best part is that you can choose what kind of goal you want for each run - whether time, distance, calories burned, etc. I just used it again this morning!

I haven't tried downloading my info and using the software yet, though... I should do that :)
Happy belated...
