Lazy Pants

I was not in the mood at all to workout this morning. When my alarm went off, I just wanted to stay in bed, but usually once I start working out, I'm fine. At the gym (in our building), I did a single set of free weights, followed by an easy 45 minute walk on the treadmill while watching the news. I guess I am happy that I did something, but an extra hour of sleep would have been nice too!

Breakfast is yummy this morning!  (I'm eating it as I type.) Today's oat bowl was made with granola crumbles, vanilla hemp milk, and a scoop of Barney Butter. The vanilla hemp milk made the oats so incredibly creamy and sweet. I forgot how much I like hemp milk in my oats!

Measurements:

1/2 cup dry oats
3/4 cup vanilla hemp milk
granola crumbles (1/4 plank)
heaping spoonful Barney Butter

Question of the Day

What is your lazy day workout?

I'm off to the DMV to get a new license then to work! So glad that it is Hump Day already!!!

I used hemp milk in my oats for the first time yesterday and thought the same thing! I think it is my new favorite non dairy milk!

Hello! I read your blog everyday! but never post!
My lazy day workout involves me telling myself I only "have to run for 20 minutes" - but 20 ALWAYS turns into 30 or 40! I find once I get going, the laziness goes away!

It is so nice that you have a gym in your building. Uber-convenient. Mine is a 1/4 mile away, which is not bad at all, but far less motivating than just downstairs.

Since I ONLY use hempmilk as my "milk," I too love it in oats :0)

My lazy day workout: yoga and a long walk.

My lazy day workout is biking in the apartment gym while reading a book or magazine - I'm enjoying the reading so much, I forget I'm even biking.

Or taking a stroll with the boyfriend. That's always nice too.

PS: Your skinny cookies from yesterday look so good. And 50 calories? Not bad at all!

I love almond milk in oats . . . I haven't tried hempmilk yet. And I should totally try nut butter in oatmeal sometime!

I guess my favorite lazy day workout has to be yoga -- it doesn't really feel like working out, I guess. :)

My lazy day workouts are also long walks. Usually once I start out on a long walk, it usually turns into a run when I start to think, "Well..I'm already out here...." so it works out!

Today I'm having a lazy day so I plan on mowing the lawn for my exercise!

Those cookies look yummy! I saw you purchased broccoli slaw, my favorite thing to do with it is to saute ground turkey (or soy crumbles) with a little onion and garlic. Remove from the pan (remove any extra oils) then saute broccoli slaw in the pan with a little soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili peppers. When its slightly cooked, take your turkey, put it in a wrap, add slaw, then drizzle with a mix of hoison and plum sauce. Its so good! and easy

I have a 'walk' in the shopping mall, or cook. Chopping veggies or kneading dough must be good for your arms! : )
I've never seen hemp milk here in SA... I'd love to try it. In fact I went to Starbucks today and they don't even have soy milk.... How far back are they?!?!?

I love how almost every time you say you're NOT in the mood to workout, you do! Commitment!

Lazy walkout? Walking :)

I like taking long, long walks-- to me, it is more fun than a workout, but I'm still burning calories! I try to walk somewhere productive, like the grocery store or a park where I can lay around or read. That's a great day. :)

Unless you want to be sidelined at an early age, I'd say that an actual day off is CRUCIAL!

Although, I obviously take my dog out for a walk daily :)

Like you did, I just try to get a walk in. Most times I end up running anyway!

My lazy day workout is just a nice easy walk. It's enough to be moving but doesn't really feel like work!

Eliza, Happy Birthday! Well, don't be so hard on yourself. It's your birthday! But now, you can recover by eating whole foods, like fruits and vegetables and whole grains to clean out your system. Drink tea and don't consume any caffeine. And if the weather is nice, go for a jog for a good sweat!
