Unsuccessful Shoe Shopping

Sorry for just now getting around to my dinner post. My sister and I were on a shoe shopping mission last night, and I didn't get home until a little after 9:00. We walked around the mall for about 2 hours, so I was pooped and just wanted my bed. My brain didn't have enough energy for a blog post.

Dinner

I had been telling my sister about spaghetti squash for a couple weeks now, so last night was a perfect opportunity to make it for her. It was a hit with my sister! However, she wasn't a fan of the marinara sauce, which was a tomato basil flavor (from a jar). She said it tasted gingery, which she didn't like much, but she added a lot of parmesan cheese to her spaghetti squash, and ate it anyway. (She's a lot like me-- we're not at all picky eaters. We'll eat just about anything!)

With the spaghetti squash, I also served a big garden salad of lettuce, grape tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and cucumbers. We also enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay.


Here's a shot of our lovely dinner before the salad was served. (Side note: Mal ate with us too, but decided that he wasn't in the mood for spaghetti squash and salad. Instead, he made himself a bowl of rice to which he added soy sauce and a couple sliced-up hot dogs. I almost took a photo to include in the blog, but I decided to spare you guys!)

There were 4 pumpkin-peanut butter-chocolate chip muffins left, so my sister and I finished them off. We each had 2. She loved them-- she even asked for the recipe, so she could make her own batch!


Shoe Shopping Frustration

So, shoe shopping last night was incredibly frustrating. I'm not one to obsessed about fashion, but I could not find the "right" shoes. My sister and I must have visited at least 10-12 stores, and I probably tried on about 50 pairs of shoes. No luck. I am trying to find shoes that will go with my dress for my wedding shower. Here's the dress...


The shoes in the photo work very well with the dress, but they're also $260! I love shoes, but not that much! I've been trying to find similar shoes, but I don't think they exist for less than $100. I'm also kind of short (5'3 1/2"...that 1/2 inch is important!), so I'd prefer to wear heels. Ugh. What a pain in the butt! Shoe shopping should be a piece of cake! They're just shoes, right? I spent less time and effort shopping for my wedding dressing! After last night, I'm pretty much ready to go barefoot!
