Breakfast Repeat

Good morning! LOTS to do today at work! Yowsahs!

Today's breakfast was a repeat of yesterday's banana walnut oatmeal. I did, however, "spice it up" with a few raisins. (I know, I'm so crazy.)

I actually used Old Wessex 5 Grain Cereal instead of regular oatmeal, so I guess breakfast was a tad bit different this morning.

Breakfast from above with a multivitamin and a dark chocolate Adora...

Lately, my diet has been so-so in the nutrient department (mainly from lack of groceries in the house), so I figured a vitamin and mineral boost was needed.

Hot day= iced coffee to go. I made mine with hemp milk and Splenda this morning. The combo of hazelnut coffee and vanilla hemp milk sort of tasted like chocolate milk. It was a pleasant surprise at 7:45 am!

Question of the Day

Have your healthy habits influenced anyone else? If so, how?

Me: My healthy habits have definitely rubbed off on Mal. He has dramatically cut back on the amount of fast food in his diet. He's also open to trying new foods that I cook at home-- he's no longer scared of "vegan" recipes.

Love your "repeat" breakfast!! Yum!!

Good luck at work today!!

My healthy habits have rubbed off on my parents; but I don't try to influence people with my own habits - they're for my well-being, and not for me to try to push off onto others.

Well said, VeggieGirl! My healthy habits have rubbed off on my little brother. At 13, he wasn't by any means obese, but he was definitely overweight. Last summer my boyfriend and I created an exercise and healthy eating "lifestyle" for him, and he has absolutely loved it - and has lost 20 pounds in the process! He loves showing off his new muscles :)

I always read your blog, but rarely comment...but I'm loving these questions of the day, so thought I'd actually respond to one ;)

My healthy habits have rubbed off on my boyfriend the most. He eats much better foods than he used to (and actually feels kinda gross after big burgers and such now) and has tried all kinds of new foods...and usually ends up liking them! He's always been pretty active, but now we go on walks after dinner together and will occasionally work out on the weekends together as well.

Man, if only my habits could rub off on my boyfriend - his diet consists mainly of carbs, dairy, and a smallish amount of meat with minimal fruits and veggies, which worries me a bit. I hope that if/when we eventually live together that might change!

By the way, I've always been one to eat something prepared, but protein-packed for breakfast (like an Amy's tofu scramble pocket), but you've inspired me to branch out. I had some Arrowhead Mills 7-grain hot cereal for breakfast with bananas and blueberries and sliced almonds, and some vanilla yogurt on top, and did that ever feel tasty and satisfying! I also dared to try Ezekiel bread, and I'm in love with it now. So hey, you're inspiring me, too! ;)

I love the questions of the days! (and seeing what everyones answers are).

My healthy habits have rubbed off on my boyfriend. Before we started dating he hadn't been grocery shopping in over a year- he just ate fast food or at 7-11. Although he still doesn't eat the greatest, him and I go grocery shopping every other week and he stocks up on fruits and vegetables. He also eats a lot less red meat-he said he use to eat a steak a day (sometimes two) but since being with me (I don't eat red meat or pork) he doesn't crave it the same way and would rather have chicken or fish.

I love your answer Veggiegirl. Sometimes people tell me I'm making them "feel bad" because of my good choices and their bad choices. But I figure that's their problem-I'm not telling them that they're making bad choices, they know they are and hence the guilt.

Like you and Mal, my diet success rubbed off on my husband. I guess he got tired of hearing people telling me how much weight I had lost and decided to jump on the band wagon. He is very open to trying some of my creations. I am very proud of him, he has dropped 2 pant sizes.

My mother who called me today because she lost 35 lbs on weight watchers and has gone from the "obese" category to "normal" and dropped from a size 14 to 6!!

I think I've influenced The Cub SOME...when I first moved in he went to the gym with me and lost 15pounds... but then he quit the gym...and it's all back.

I *LOVE* oatmeal for breakfast!!

I am hoping my good habits will rub off on my boyfriend eventually - although I have struggled since we have been together because of all of the social events, etc. I've gained about 10 lbs since he and started dating and I am currently trying to get rid of the extra weight. But I know he is somewhat influenced by the choices I make and I hope that continues so his own health improves! Have a great day!

My healthy habits have rubbed off most on one of my best friends. She's obese, and used to have an aversion to any type of healthy-sounding food and exercise. Now she and I go to the gym together, and we cook healthy meals together whenever we can!

My healthy habits haven't quit "rubbed off" on anyone, but I've been told by a few friends that my changes and success keep them inspired to keep pushing forward in their journeys to health as well!

I think my healthy eating habits have rubbed off on my parents the most. Our pantry is remarkably different now than it was five years ago--our house used to be known among friends for its "good" snacks (e.g., ELF cookies, Goldfish, etc.). Now, my oldest sister comes in our house and whines that all we have are healthy snacks!

I think they have rubbed off on my parents somewhat. My dad always asks if there is trans fats in a product, and I feel like we eat more veggies now.

I love these questions of the day!
