Fr-Fr-Fr-Fr-Friday!

TGIF! So glad the weekend is almost here! Even with Monday off, this week felt soooo long!

I finally made it to the gym this morning. I haven't had a morning workout all week-- it's been really hard getting back into my usual AM routine. My workout today was great though! Just what I needed! I did a Total Body Circuit of free weights then walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes while watching with the news.

Breakfast this morning was a toasted Thomas' whole grain English muffin with Teddie peanut butter on one side and Claire's pumpkin butter on the other... and...

a mango-berry smoothie. We had quite a bit of very ripe fruit that needed to get eaten up in the next couple of days, so the solution was a smoothie. Summer + smoothie = amazing.

Mango-Berry Smoothie
(approximate measurements)

1 cup diced mango
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/3 cup plain yogurt
1 tbsp ground flax seed
1 tbsp honey
6-8 ice cubes
splash of milk

I arrived to work almost 15 minutes before my start time, so my friend, Blain and I decided to grab some iced coffee from D&D. I love summer Fridays and no traffic-- extra time to get iced coffee! :)

Let's hope this day flies by! I'm going to the Red Sox-Yankees game tonight! Super excited! :) Happy Friday, folks!

Almost forgot...

Question of the Day

Are you a professional/college sports fan? If so, what is/are your team(s)?

Me: The teams that I follow are the Red Sox (obviously), BC football, and UVM basketball (Mal's alma mater). Mal's goal is to get me into the Patriots this season too-- he wants me to learn all of the players' names and watch with him. He's obsessed with the Pats (and the Red Sox... and UVM basketball... and the Celtics)!

TGIF!!!

Pumpkin butter = divine.

Go Red Sox!!! I used to reside in Boston, so of course I'm cheering for them :0)

Lucky girl... a Sox/Yankees show down!

I was in NYC last weekend and caught a Yanks/Oakland game. Soo fun!

Go YANKEES!

Sorry, Tina. We are total opposites. Mike went to Notre Dame, so we LOVE Notre Dame football and we are from outside of NYC, so we heart the Yankees and the GIants!

SF Giants for baseball and Oregon State for college football. Go Beavers! Can you tell I'm a West Coast girl? ;-)

mmm.. I don't know anything about baseball or football... I did play some basketball in school... : ) What I do follow is rugby! And I watch soccer only during the world cup... People here watch a lot of cricket, which bores me to death...... I'm a volleyball type a girl! LOL!

UVM basketball! I played bball at Middlebury College 2002-06 (just south of Burlington) and my coach there got us into UVM games b/c her brother used to be the UVM coach! Back in the days of Taylor Coppenrath and TJ Sorrentine!!! Her brother (Tom Brennan) retired in '05 and has since been on ESPN! :) Small small world.

In general I like BC Bball b/c my boyfriend is an alum and we've been to a bunch of games. And of course the Celtics, KG is my faaaave and PJ Brown really impressed me this season just by being so consistent when he was needed!

Lacey,

Taylor Coppenrath and TJ Sorrentine! Those were the days! Not gonna lie, I cried tears of joy when they beat Syracuse in the tourney! :)

PITTSBURGH SPORTS!! Steelers, Pirates, Penguins <3 Even though I moved away :(

Ohio State Buckeyes all the way! Professional sports-wise... I love the Yankees and the Giants and I'm actually a Celtic's fan (contrasting interests, I know.. I love KG!)

MMMMMM... pumpkin butter...

I like playing sports a whole lot more than watching them- but I am a Mavs fan. Woohoo Dallas!

What a great question!!

You and I may be rivals in nearly every sport.

MLB: DIE DIE DIE hard Yankee! (go Chamberlain!) (but for the National league—the Washington Nationals who happen to be in second to last place overall!)

College Football: Virginia Tech Hokies (my alma mater) and we definitely have a bit of hatred for BC and Matty Ice. :)

Football: The Raiders and the Jets

Ice Hockey: The Rangers and the Capitals

Tour De France: The studmuffin himself, Christian Vande Velde

And I am not a huge basketball fan.

I think I am the only reader that is from the South, since I live in Alabama....ROLL TIDE! I obviously cheer for the University of Alabama in all college sports.

In Pro sports we love the Dallas Cowboys and the LA Dodgers.

I love smoothies in the summer!

bI'm a strange mix: Red Sox for baseball and the New York Giants for football. It gets complicated when your parents are from Connecticut! I am NOT a BC football fan (well, ok, I watch them on tv) only because the nightmare parking makes it hard to get around BC campus. And I'm a little too old to be a Superfan...

Tina, enjoy the game tonight!

Tina,

Where did u get the pumpkin butter from?
As far as the question my boyfriend plays baseball for the minor leagues of the padres team so I am a fan of mostly just himhahah. He got drafted out of high school to the red sox and being from New York you could imagine all the abuse he took from friends family but thankfully for him he got traded!

sportsnutritionliving,

The pumpkin butter is from a farmer's market in VT, but you can also order it online at: http://www.clairescountrygarden.com/

The stuff is amazing!!!

I went to The University of Colorado, so I am a BUFFS fan no matter how bad they are. Watching them play just brings back great memories from college game days. I am also now a UCLA fan thanks to my lovely boyfriend. They win much more than the BUFFS, so I am happy to cheer on the Bruins.

Some representation from the Midwest...I'm a Cardinals baseball fan and a Nebraska Husker football fan! Professional Baseball and college football are really the only sports I follow.

GO BLUE! I am a die-hard Umich football fan. It's pretty much a requirement to go there :-). I'm from Michigan too, but I don't really get as excited about the rest of our sports teams.

Mmmmm... pumpkin butter. Love this stuff, although I always seem to want it when it's NOT in season, so I need to buy it in October and save it for April!

I'm not a big sports fan; I've been a dancer my whole life and not terribly athletic. My husband is a huge football/Broncos fan though, so I do my best there. :-)
My childhood home sport was college basketball, and it's all about the Duke Blue Devils!
