Whirlwind Day!

Oat Bran Morning
I rolled out of bed absolutely starving! I wanted warm, carb-y, comfort food, so I made a bowl of Old Wessex Ltd Oat Bran. This morning was my first experience with it-- I have read about it and seen it at the grocery store, but I don't think I have ever eaten it. Like oatmeal, oat bran doesn't have a strong taste, but you can spruce-it-up with all sorts of additions. The texture of oat bran is a little bit more "creamy" than regular oats, especially if you make it with milk, which I will probably try next time. To my bowl of oat bran, I added chopped dates, almond slices, and sugar-free maple syrup. It was delicious! I'm a fan! (Cooking tip: If you use the microwave, make sure you use a big, deep bowl. When I wasn't watching, my oat bran exploded all over the microwave! What a mess!)
I also had 1/2 of a very ripe and juicy orange... It was so tasty! I might eat the other half soon!
From above...
And an iced coffee with milk and Splenda...
1/3 cup dry oat bran: 100
5 dates: 120
1/8 cup sliced almonds: 70
1/2 orange: 45
1/2 cup milk: 40
Breakfast total: 375

Bowling Bummer
We arrived at Jillian's early in the evening to make sure that we put our name in for bowling. (Jillian's is always super busy, so if you want to bowl, you need to get there early!) We had about 20 people in our party, so we knew it would take a little while until we got our bowling lanes. We hung out and grabbed some drinks and appetizers while we waited. Around 11:00, we still hadn't been called for our lanes. Mal and I were getting pretty tired, so we decided to head home early. As we were saying our goodbyes, we finally got called to bowl! We had already picked-up our jackets from the Coat Check and were on our way out the door, so we decided not to stay. We were bummed that we didn't have a chance to bowl, but we had a great time and hung out with a bunch of our friends. Mal really wanted to go bowling last night, so we are going to try to schedule it in very soon!
Here's my Absolut Ruby and soda... it tasted like grapefruit juice! I think this is going to be one of my summer drinks!
And a Guinness... after the Guinness, I just drank water at the bar.
I was getting hungry around 9:00, so we ordered some chips and salsa to share. I pretty much ate half the order!
Waiting to bowl, the birthday boy, me, and another friend...

Quick Full Body Workout
Here's the workout that I did this morning. It takes about 10 minutes to complete a set. All you need is a set of dumbbells.
- Lunge with Overhead Press: 8-10 pound dumbbells, 20 reps (10 each leg)
- Squat Thrusts: 15 reps
- Push-up with Leg Raise: 10 reps. Start in a full push-up position. As you bend elbows, lift right leg. Push back up and lower leg. Alternate legs.
- Tricep dips: 10-12 reps
- Stiff-Leg Pullover Crunch: 10-12 reps

Clue Day
March 1st is Clue Day! Once Mal booked our honeymoon, he told me he'd give me one clue a month until I guessed the location. I actually got two clues this morning! Here's what I know so far-- let me know if you have any idea where we are going!
Honeymoon clues:
- Need a passport
- Hep A shot recommended
- "Very famous" celebrity couple got married there
- Celebrity couple man received an Oscar for Best Screenplay
I woke up around 7:30 this morning and hit the gym around 8:00. I had a really good full body workout, which included about 90 minutes of walking, elliptical, toning exercises, and free weights. (I'll be sure to post the workout later today.)
I was famished after my workout! (I probably should have had a snack beforehand.) Breakfast was a Pumpkin Oatmeal Pancake with sugar-free maple syrup, coffee with milk, and a sliced pear that I shared with Mal. The Pumpkin Oatmeal Pancake was amazing as usual and totally hit the spot!
I'm not sure what is on the agenda for the day-- probably errands, a little bit of work, baking Olive Oil Cake, and some R&R. We have dinner plans at 6:00, followed by bowling to celebrate a friend's birthday, so I think the day will fly, especially since it's already noon.
Oatmeal pancake: 150
1/4 cup pumpkin: 20
1/2 pear: 45
1/4 maple syrup: 30
2 cups coffee w/ milk: 60
Breakfast total: 305
